Detectives drawn from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Monday intercepted 500Kgs of narcotics at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

The DCI reports that the narcotic packed in 52 bags-concealed tea packets, was identified during the screening process at the airport.

One suspect has been arrested in connection to the incident.

Reports indicate the package was sent by various exporters and was on transit to United States, Australia and Austria.

The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) had issued a seizure notice on the goods.

Last week, detectives nabbed Heroin weighing approximately 12 Kilograms at JKIA.

DCI reports indicate the consignment was concealed in two radio speakers and declared as traditional baskets and sandals.
