Uganda President Yoweri Museveni’s car has been recovered near Naivasha, five months after it went missing.

According to reports by Flying Squad, the dark blue Toyota Kluger was recovered at the Gilgil weighbridge.

The police noted that the men who were in possession of the vehicle fled and are since being sought after.

It is however not clear whether the vehicle, which is now at the DCI offices, is privately owned or is part of the presidential convoy.

An officer from the DCI stated: “Since December, we have been tracing this vehicle but our efforts failed because the registration numbers have been changed. “

He further divulged that the vehicle ha Uganda registration number plates when it was reported missing five months ago.

But by the time it was recovered, it had been fitted new registration plates, SSD598M, indicating that it came from South Sudan.

In a separate incident, last August, a vehicle believed to have been part of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s motorcade was recovered in Tanzania.

Two suspects were arrested by the police at the time.

According to Tanzanian police, the black Nissan V8 model was intercepted at a police barrier in Boma Ng’ombe headed towards Kilimanjaro.
