The country has in the recent past had many cases of unprecedented killings of mostly estranged lovers, which has since formed a worrying trend.

Last month, Ivy Wangechi was hacked to death by an alleged former lover, Naftali Kinuthia, who is claimed to have traveled from Nairobi just to carry out the unthinkable act.

He has since been arraigned in court where he denied murder charges being held against him.

Appearing before an Eldoret court on Thursday, Kinuthia was ordered to remain in detention until May 29.

Weighing in on the killings, Former Prime Minister’s wife Ida Odinga called on Kenyans to desist from killing others when they have difference of opinions or when their love turns soar.

“You are not the first people to fall in love, if you are rejected by a lady don’t kill her, there are many more. If you find her too smart, look for a dumb one like you. There are more ladies,” Mrs Odinga stated.
