Gor Mahia are four points away from retaining their Kenyan Premier League for the third time on the bounce.

K’Ogalo put to the sward their closest rivals Sofapaka – beating them 2-0 in an entertaining match played at the Kisumu’s Moi Stadium to inch closer to a record 18th crown.

After a barren first half laced with many missed chances, the coach Hassan Oktay’s side went ahead through Samuel Onyango in the second half.

The goal was the former Ulinzi Stars forward’s fifth on the trot.

Rwandan striker Jacques Tuyisenge doubled the lead to seal the three crucial points.

Gor Mahia, who are now on 66 points – 10 clear of Sofapaka, now need at least a win a draw in their next two matches against Nzoia Sugar and AFC Leopards to be declared champions.
