Bed Bugs JKUATStudents at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) in Juja are uncomfortable lot. The whole institution seems to be having a problem which they now blame on imaginary forces. There is an infestation of bedbugs at the public university with most students accommodated in the school openly complaining that they can’t even concentrate on their studies with the infestation so widespread.

The problem started being serious in 2011. The students come with their own beddings while the university provide mattresses for all the borders. The most affected are the first and second year students but the problem has spread so fast that the whole university can’t seems to cope with the menace despite being the hub of science research in the country.

The hostels are also fumigated every holiday but that has not eradicated the little monsters.

So these KU bedbugs are so ninja that they’ve found their way to JKUAT, a big concern for me

The problem is not isolated at JKUAT as reports all over social media indicated that Kenyatta University (KU) and University of Nairobi (UoN) are also having the same problem but to a lesser extent. In fact, most of JKUAT students accused their counterparts in KU of spreading the bed bugs to the Juja based institution.
