The AccessKenya Group have announced that they have expanded their wireless network to Nyeri and Nanyuki. This expansion will see Nyeri and Nanyuki as well as areas such as Mukurweini covered under AccessKenya’s Wimax (wireless) network allowing the group to extend its network presence to all major towns in the country.

Jonathan Somen the Group Managing Director said “our entry into these towns is clear testimony of our commitment to making our impressive range of services more easily accessible to a wider client range. There has been numerous requests for our services in these areas hence our roll out to cater for the increasing demand from existing clients and the potential the company has identified in the region to attract new clients”.

The two towns have registered rapid new sign-ups to AccessKenya network.

Clients in these regions can now access fast, guaranteed speeds at an affordable fee together with industry leading, reliable customer service.  The clients are also set to benefit from other services like layer 2 and layer 3 VPNs, inter-branch connectivity, Virtual private networks, MPLS and other value added services using AccessKenya’s backbone.

AccessKenya has dedicated more than 150 Mega bytes of bandwidth for these areas.

Recently, AccessKenya expanded it’s network to Nakuru, Eldoret and Kisumu to meet the growing demand for its services. The Group already has 150km of metro fibre network covering over 250 buildings in Nairobi and is currently laying out fibre to cover Mombasa town to cater for the growing business and residential internet needs in the coastal region.  It also has one of the largest Wi-Max network in Kenya, as well as a long established Motorola wireless network offering in excess of 3,000 square kilometers of coverage.
