Alfred Keter Warns Of A Country Crumbling, To Be Saved Via Revolution

Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter has expressed distaste on how the Finance Bill 2018 was passed, and later assented into a law by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

In a statement, the outspoken legislator has thanked the members who tried to reject the presidential VAT proposal in the form of a memorandum, saying that since that day they became part of the ‘silent’ revolution in Kenya.

“I put it to you members of the August house not all is lost, despite the pronouncement by the cartels camouflaging as the speakers, that the ayes had it,of course you all know what transpired. Honorable members, that is now history, but allow me to summarize as I come straight to the point that history will judge us harshly as a membership of the August House if we leave the impunity portrayed by the cartels in the name of house leadership to get away with it,” stated Keter.

Keter has also said that the country is crumbling with an unbearable burden of debt that is threatening to cripple the economy, saying that the measures the government is purporting to put in place are ridiculous.

“I heard the cartels in parliament uttering statements like “the government has proposed austerity measures”.That is ridiculous! Is it the same government that hardly two weeks ago was proposing to change Police uniforms? By the way members,as far as I remember in my time in the university while attending an economics class,my lecturer stated that austerity measures are used by governments who are unable to pay debts, by either cutting on the expenditure or by increasing taxes or both, now looking at the above, which government facing a financial crisis like the one in Kenya will be making proposals of changing police uniforms? Those are misplaced priorities,” says Keter.

He has further urged the parliamentarians to stick together to save the country for future generations.
