Former 1500 metres world champion Asbel Kiprop posted his mobile money transfers on social media still trying to defend himself against the doping allegations that had him handed a four ban by the IAAF.
But in a turn of events, what caught the peoples eye is the transfer of Sh975, 700 to his former side chick Nancy Cherotich.
“My MPesa correspondence reflects my priorities. My mum is the number one priority, while my father’s name does not feature in the top 20 transactions on the those statements because my father is me and I am him,” he wrote on Facebook in a post that he has since pulled down.
Cherotich shot to the limelight last year when a rather raunchy video of herself and Kiprop went viral on social media.
The two were clearly intoxicated when filming.
Cherotich, wife to his former training partner and pacesetter Andrew Rotich Chepsiya, has since relocated to Qatar following public humiliation.
The married woman would later accuse the athlete of sex blackmail. She claimed that he got her drunk even though she does not indulge.

Also top on the money transfer list was his mother Julia Jepkosgei who received some Sh979,000.
His estranged wife Sammary Cherotich who packed her belongings and left their matrimonial home when the news of his philandering ways broke received Sh1.7 million.
She has in the past however accused him of not supporting their children. But according to the 29 year old gold medalist, he has tried to reach the ex-wife on several occasions but his efforts have proved futile.
Kiprop has in the recent past also been said to have dated a high school girl, claims he has since denied.
“All that is not true, in fact we can produce her identity card… she is over 18 and she has cleared high school. My enemies are trying their best to tarnish my name because of the doping cases. The text messages were created by an athlete based in Ngong,” he is quoted by the Nairobian.
A troubled Kiprop earlier this week caused a stir online when he asked the National Police Service to relieve him of his duties lest “I use this machinery to earn myself justice.”
He would later be summoned by Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai to Jogoo House where he was described as a “hero that should not be forgotten.”
His ex-wife also noted that he is going through a rough patch and should not be ridiculed but receive counsel.
