    One dead, three injured after wall collapses at Machakos construction site

    One person died and three others sustained injuries after a wall collapsed at a construction site in Ngelani, Athi River South Sub-County, Machakos County.

    The incident occurred on Friday, October 9, 2026, at a construction site belonging to Evergreen Company, which was still under development.

    The deceased, identified as Mbata Mutinda James, 34, sustained serious injuries after being struck by the falling wall. He was rushed to Shalom Hospital, where he died on arrival.

    Three other men who were working at the site were also injured and taken to Shalom Hospital for treatment.

    All three were reported to be in stable condition.

    Police officers visited the scene following the incident.

    Crime scene personnel documented the site as investigations into the circumstances surrounding the collapse commenced.

    The body of the deceased was moved to Shalom Hospital as police continued to establish the circumstances that led to the fatal incident.

    And a human skeleton has been discovered by a farmer while cultivating his farm in Kiambugo area, Timau Location, Buuri West Sub-County, Meru County.

    The discovery was reported on Friday, October 9, 2026, by a local who said he had come across the remains at around 12:45 pm while working on his farm.

    Police officers visited the scene, where they documented and photographed the area before recovering the skeleton.

    The remains were subsequently transferred to the mortuary at Nanyuki Teaching and Referral Hospital, where they were preserved pending identification and a post-mortem examination.

    Investigations are expected to establish the identity of the deceased and the circumstances surrounding the death.
