    Assa Nyakundi’s Wife Changes Tune, Now Wants Husband Back Home

    City lawyer Assa Nyaundi’s case on the killing of his son, Joseph Nyakundi, has taken numerous twists even as the wife now seeks to have the state drop charges against him.

    In her submissions, Nyakundi’s wife Lucy, through her lawyers told the court that she wants to be reunited with her husband who had been ordered to stay away from his family two weeks ago.

    According to Lucy, she has since accepted that her son passed on and has moved on, hence her appealing to have her husband go back home.

    Together with her son, Lucy had initially been listed as a state witness in the case of Nyakundi who is facing murder charges.

    Nyakundi was charged with manslaughter in what the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) director George Kinoti believes was a bungled up investigation.

    Appearing before Kiambu Principal Magistrate Teresia Nyangena, the DCI noted that they are likely to lodge more serious charges against Nyakundi.

    Lawyer Nyakundi was two weeks ago charged with manslaughter for shooting dead his son, Joseph Bogonko, on March 17 in Nairobi.

    He whoever pleaded not guilty and was released on a cash bail of Ksh300,000.
