Kenya’s woman’s football team, Harambee Starlets, are through to the 2018 Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) after CAF disqualified Equatorial Guinea. Football Kenya Federation (FKF)  successfully appealed against Equatorial Guinea for fielding ineligible players against the Starlets in the last round of the qualifiers. Ugandan left back Shafik Batambuze has signed a two-year contract to join Kenyan Premier League champions Gor Mahia. Shafik was a free agent after leaving Singida United of Tanzania. The ex-Tusker man sealed the deal on Tuesday and is expected to replace his fellow countryman Godrey Walusimbi who joined Kaizer Chiefs of Tanzania mid this year. All FAs from across Africa have until midnight today (Monday) to present names of their representatives in both the Champions League and the Confederation Cup to the Africa’s football body. The new season will be curtain raised by the KPL Super Cup on 2 December 2018, pitting champions Gor Mahia and SportPesa Shield winner between Sofapaka and Kariobangi Sharks. MO was abducted Thursday morning last week as he alighted to enter Colosseum Hotel, Dar Es Salaam for a gym session. Zimbabwe piped Kenya’s Shujaa 17-5 to bag the 2018 Africa 7s title at Jemmal Stadium, Tunisia Sunday. Both side went into the match unscathed, having won all their previous matches but it was Zimbabwe, who drew the first blood with a converted try from Shingirai Katsvere.
