President Uhuru Kenyatta recently appointed Micheal Mubea as the ambassador to Dublin, Ireland, bringing to an end his six year stint at the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC). Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) through the Governor Dr Patrick Njoroge led five commercial banks in launching the pilot phase of a mobile loan product targeting MSMEs. The loan product is a mobile-based credit scheme that is set to improve access to credit for small-to-midsize enterprises, which have been locked out of the formal credit market because of the informal nature of their records and lack of collateral for secured loans. Justice Maureen Onyango of the High Court has extended orders suspending the implementation of the 1.5% Housing Levy fund until May 27, 2019. The labour court had suspended the housing 1.5% housing tax levy that it had been imposed on Kenyans as  which was to commence at the end of April. The court said that the tax will stay on hold until the matter is heard on May 20. Kenyans have bashed Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa for turning a christian worship song to a praise song for the Deputy President William Ruto. Nakuru Town East MP David Gikaria has been arrested for allegedly slapping a police officer and resisting arrest. Gikaria was arrested alongside ten other suspects  as they oversaw the construction of stalls on the said land at Pipeline along the Nakuru-Nairobi Highway. The Employment and labour court has ruled that police constables who have graduated will have a salary equal to that of a police inspector. Last year graduate police constables had complained of discrimination in remuneration by the National Police Service Commission (NPSC) .
