Ezekiel Mutua, the CEO of the Kenya films classification Board, (KFCB) has called for the vetting of the so called political analysts that are being interviewed on various Television stations. He said that some of the analysts were hate mongers and use the opportunity to peddle tribal politics. Cabinet Secretary for Devolution and planning Mwangi Kiunjuri has denied claims that the girl said to be behind the Moi Girls High school fire that led to the demise of 10 girls at the schools dormitory is his daughter. Parliament has today embarked on tabling the election laws amendment bill of 2017 which seeks according to some legislators,remedy or reduce the irregularities identified by the the Supreme court while nullifying the elections. NASA MPs are opposed to the said amendments saying that they have been tabled in a hurry and that they should wait until after the fresh elections in order for it to be tabled. Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) has launched investigations following videos emerging of police officers assaulting students from the University of Nairobi in their halls of residence. Students in St Peters Marakwet Boys have been sent home after burning down the school dormitory, vandalized the principal’s office and stole money from the accounts office, The students purported to be behind the incident were absent during the roll call and it was established that they had been out taking alcohol with a mission of unleashing the chaos at the school afterwards. The High Court In Kirinyaga has rejected the petition by Martha Karua where she had asked the court to nullify the whole of the August 8 polls.
