Mombasa county Finance Executive Maryam Mbaruk and her Chief Officer Aisha Abdi  on Wednesday locked themselves in their offices to avoid arrest. The labour court has suspended the housing 1.5% housing tax levy that it had imposed on Kenyans as  which was to commence at the end of April. The court said that the tax will stay on hold until the matter is heard on May 20. The Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) have beefed up security at all their airports following suspected Al Shabaab over the Easter Holidays. The head of security Col. Private Security Regulatory Authority (PSRA) has said that the KK Security guard caught on camera asaulting a woman for filming him has been suspended. The guard identified as Philip Kiriba was suspended after preliminary investigations on the incident were conducted. A man has been arrested in Eldoret town for pretending to be an Administration Police office and has been extorting unsuspecting residents. A video has emerged of a security guard allied to the KK security company assaulting a woman who was filming him  as he got into an altercation with another tenant. In the video the guard is heard warning the lady that people who take videos usually have their mobile phones destroyed. Parents of a student of Moi Girls Secondary school have sued the school after their child  was sent home for day dreaming. The parents claimed that their daughter was discriminated by the school administration and wanted to be compensated for the time that the child lost. A court in Eldoret has detained murder suspect Naftali Kinuthia for 14 days to allow the police to complete investigations into the murder of medical student Ivy Wangeci. Kenyans will have to tighten their belts as fuel prices go up . The rise will take effect on Midnight April 15. In the latest review, super petrol will go up by Ksh.5.25, diesel by Ksh.5.52 and kerosene by Ksh.2.76 in Nairobi. This prices will include the 8% government imposed tax that was passed by the finance act.
