The National assembly has approved the nomination of Eliud Kinuthia as the chairman of the National police service commission (NPSC). He will take the place of Johnston Kavuludi who had been at the helm of the commission for the last six years . His term elapsed in 2018. Former nominated senator Joy Gwendo will be forced to part with Sh 660000 and a jail term of one year after the High Court reviewed her sentence. The former senator had earlier been sentence to two years in prison for was on December 7, 2018 sentenced to a two-year jail term after she was found guilty of abuse of office and fraud.  The magistrates court  had given her the sentence without an option. Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has accused president Uhuru Kenyatta of using the handshake between him and ODM leader Raila Odinga  to extend his presidential term. A gang on burglary mission killed five security officers manning business premises in Vihiga county. The armed men stole money and goods from the shop before killing the guards whose bodies were found in different places of Kilingili market. Speaker Justin Muturi has stopped the Parliamentary Public Investment Committee(PIC) from investigating the proposal by  Kenya Airways  to take over the management  of Jomo Kenyatta International airport. The parliamentary committee had accused the PIC of overstepping their mandate after they tabled a report on the take over. Tanzanian singer Ali Kiba and Kenyan wife Amina Khaleef have welcomed their first child together. Ali Kiba revealed the news through his Instagram age but did not reveal the sex of the child. Kenyan actor Kone Nouhoum who featured in the Kenyan series ‘Selina’ has died at the Nairobi Hospital Intensive Care Unit. The actor was involved in a grisly car accident in October last year where he injured his spine. The impact made his head bob backwards and fractured his spine. He’s been in and out of surgery since. The family of deceased Rugby player Richard Sidindi have cried foul play over his death with his uncle claiming that the doctor’s report indicated that he did not suffer any physical injuries.
