The ownership of the controversial Weston Hotel was finally put to rest after Ahmednassir Abdullahi, the lawyer for the Deputy President William Ruto, disclosed how the land was purchased. The Member of parliament in his defense said that he intended to send the content to the police and sent it to the group by mistake. Pamela Akinyi, the lady who violently attacked the nurse at Kenyatta National Hospital KNH) says that she acted out of anger as the nurse was rude to her after the loss of her son. Jacque Maribe and fiance Joseph Irungu alias Jowie  have pleaded not guilty to murder charge of murdering Monica Kimani. The two entered a plea of not guilty before Justice Jessie Lessit. Counsel for the defense asked the prosecution to provide the witness statements , evidence and exhibits that they intend to use during the trial. Fuel prices have continued to rise in the latest review by the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC). In this latest review the price of Diesel has gone up by Sh. 1.60 while the price of Kerosene has shot up by Sh. 0.43. The price f Petrol has however decreased by Sh.1.06 and will retail at Sh,115.73 in Nairobi.The prices will however vary in different towns. Kampala University has disowned Wajir Governor Mohamed Abdi Mahamud stating that he was not in the list of graduands in 2012 as he had earlier stated. Nairobi woman representative Esther Passaris has accused governor Mike Sonko of undermining her office and not inviting her to county functions. Police in Uganda have warned organizers of the upcoming Nambole concert by musician and Kyandondo MP Bobi Wine stating they are yet to get police clearance. The Metropolitan police commander said that the venue for the concert had already been booked for another event and therefore the concert cannot take place on the planned date. County officers have made random visits on Nairobi supermarkets, to spot-check retailers that are selling maize flour at more than the recommended Sh75 retail price.
