The government spokesperson Eric Kiraithe has asked Kenyans to bear with the Chinese working in the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) amidst claims of racism and discrimination. Robert Chemgas, a third year student at Kenyatta university has moved to court to stop the Deputy President William Ruto from giving a public lecture at the institution. The Deputy president was invited to Kenyatta University to give a public lecture on the journey to success. The chairman of the Law society of Kenya Allen Gichuhi has said that his comments on activist Okiya Omtatah rendering lawyers jobless were misunderstood. He said that the complaints on the activists were raised by the Nyeri LSK branch chair Wahome Gikonyo. Kiambu Governor  Waititu has said that the property worth Ksh1.8 billion under his name belongs to him but he did not use public funds to purchase. Social media reports had stated that the governor had purchased properties in prime areas in Nairobi central business district using public funds. The government chemist has released the results of Shakira Vegetable oil which was found to be unfit for human consumption. It was discovered that the oil was contaminated with high levels of acid and peroxide. The sample that was collected from Mandera contained a higher acid value than the set standard recommended by EAS standard which allows for 0.6mgKOH/g oil. The government chemist declared the vegetable oil rancid and unfit for human consumption.
