A court in Kwale has jailed the famous eye witness Dennis Muigai Ngengi has been jailed for one and a half years for impersonation. He claimed to have witnessed two high profile crashes in a span of one week. The High court has ordered the communications authority to restore the live transmission of television stations that were switched off on January 30. Justice Chacha Mwita ordered the signal of the TV stations to be restored after a case was filed by activist Okiya Omtatah saying that the order was in contravention of article 34 of the constitution. Okiya Omtatah has moved to court to sue interior cabinet secretary Fred Matiang’i  and the ICT cabinet secretary Joe Mucheru for the media shut down. Okiya has asked the court to compel the communications authority to restore transmission. Okiya said that he would like the media houses be compensated for loss incurred during the switch off. He has also said that the switch off was a contravention of article 34 of the constitution. Police have fired teargas to disperse NASA MPs who had gathered to demand for the release of Ruaraka member of parliament TJ Kajwang. Cyprian Nyakundi has moved to court to apply for anticipatory bail pending arrest. He has however been ordered to appear at the Directorate of Criminal Investigation offices in Kiambu for processing. Dennis Itumbi, State House Director of Digital Communication has been awarded Sh5 million as compensation for illegal arrest and detention for allegedly hacking the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) website in 2012.
