The High court has ordered the communications authority to restore the live transmission of television stations that were switched off on January 30. Justice Chacha Mwita ordered the signal of the TV stations to be restored after a case was filed by activist Okiya Omtatah saying that the order was in contravention of article 34 of the constitution. Okiya Omtatah has moved to court to sue interior cabinet secretary Fred Matiang’i and the ICT cabinet secretary Joe Mucheru for the media shut down.
