The Nairobi county government has sent the Deputy Director Fire Rescue and Disaster Management Brian Kisali on compulsory leave after the fire disaster that took place in Langata The fire  that claimed four lives in the Kijiji slums in Lang’ata took long for the fire department to put out. Activist Okiya Omtatah has moved to court to stop the nomination of the chief assistant secretary and permanent secretary positions saying that the the nominees were handpicked rather than recommended by the public service commission. The employees at Laico Regency hotel in Nairobi have complained of the male lavatories that they are used by employees, suppliers. A source told Kahawa tungu that the lavatories used by the employees did not mirror the four star rating that the hotel has. The national disaster management unit  has confirmed that three people were killed in a fire that broke out at the Kijiji area of Lang’ata constituency. The fire is said to have started in one of the units on Sunday night and quickly spread to the rest of the houses. Villagers in Nyeri woke up to a rude shock after a grave of a 74 year old woman was unearthed by thieves who made a way with the coffin. Journalist Peter Makori has accused Attorney general Githu Muigai and the state law office of extortion.
