The national disaster management unit  has confirmed that three people were killed in a fire that broke out at the Kijiji area of Lang’ata constituency.

The fire is said to have started in one of the units on Sunday night and quickly spread to the rest of the houses.

Kenyans were however angered by the time that the response unit took to arrive at the incident and also blamed the county  for the lack of water in the fire trucks.

Residents were forced to use sewer  water to try and put out the fire .

The fire was eventually put out at 1:30 am. Most of the residents were rendered homeless with some being left with nothing after all their belongings were completely destroyed.

The area MP Nixon Korir has blamed the neighboring Wilson airport of bureaucracy for failing to assist in putting out the fire yet they had the facilities to do so
