The court has given controversial evangelist, Gilbert Deya a sigh of relief after it allowed his application to have the preacher released on bond. The court said that the evangelist would be released with a bond of Sh1 million and two sureties of the same amount. ODM politician Steve Mbogo who vied for the Starehe seat has made an application to the court to scrutinize ballot boxes and KIEMs kits used for the Starehe MP elections. He has identified three polling stations where he wanted the election materials scrutinized. The parliament in Uganda has passed the controversial bill to remove the presidential age limit by a two thirds majority. The bill which proposes that the age limit for a person contesting to be the president of Uganda be left open received 315 votes to support it. The court has dismissed senator Mithika Linturi’s bid to be reinstated on the graduation list so he can graduate on Friday. The senator had been de-registered by the university of Nairobi senate on discovery that the documents he used to be admitted to the university in 2014 were forged. Thieves are said to have colluded with watchmen of high end estates of Nairobi to rob unsuspecting tenants who are away on holiday. The thieves, police say, pretend they are visiting people within the the estate. Such incidents have been reported to the police during this festive season. The labor court has ordered the reinstatement of 157 Kenya Airways technicians and engineers who were sacked by the national carrier. The workers were sacked by Kenya Airways after they staged a strike demanding for a higher salary.They had demanded that the National carrier raise their salary to match up the amount being offered by the Middle East carriers.
