A woman claiming to be the second wife of deceased former Belgut MP Eric Keter has moved to court to cancel the burial of the former legislator. In sworn affidavit Ms. Rosemary Koros asked the court to cancel all burial plans until the issues she presented are heard and determined. His supporters were enraged when Nasa released information that Raila Odinga’s swearing in fete set for today had been postponed. The supreme court say that Raila Odinga’s withdrawal and that his letter of withdrawal only showed intent and was not legally binding. Justice Smokin Wanjala said that the constitution does not contemplate withdrawal from an elections. Daystar University has today (Friday 8 December) closed for the second time within a month over students protest. The head of corporate affairs in the institution Damaris Kimilu said that the decision was made after the students continued boycotting classes. Top schools are expected to open a day wing in the schools to boost form one inatke early next year. This move will solve the problem that most principals had of taking a limited intake because of accommodation facilities. Nairobi School, Lenana high school and Moi Girls Nairobi are among the national schools that are set to roll out the programme in 2018. A patient at the Chiromo lane medical center has shot dead a nurse under unclear circumstances. The patient, a licensed gun holder insisted to retain his gun past the hospital security. He is said to be mentally unstable shot the nurse as she was attending to him. Kisumu residents have protested over claims that  Kenya breweries limited in the county had failed to hire locals. They peacefully demonstrated outside the company for hours with banners that read ‘no importation of workers.’ The residents said that they had to be employed claiming they had information many of the people employed were not locals of Kisumu county yet they were qualified for the jobs. Nairobi county assembly members (MCAs) have demanded that they be given unsecured car loans and mortgages. They said that they do not understand why they were being asked for logbooks in order to access the loans. The leader of majority Abdi Guyo accused his colleagues of trying to obtain the loans illegally. He reckoned that if an MCA wanted to access the loan all he had to do was sign a contract and get a logbook from the leader. Thieves have raided the grave of the late Ivan Ssemwanga who was the ex husband of socialite and business woman Zari  Hassan. Ivan was buried in a lavish funeral with members of his Rich gang crew throwing millions inside the grave.
