A dormitory at Lenana School is on fire. Reports indicate that the Tom Mboya House dormitory caught fire on Monday morning. The fire brigade is already at the scene of incident. Elgeyo Marakwet senator Kipchumba Murkomen was the man of the hour at Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) Meru chapter. Government spokesperson Cyrus Oguna has dispelled rumours that a coronavirus patient is admitted at the Kenyatta National Hospital. According to Oguna, the claims are false and inciteful. He added that Kenya is yet to report a positive case. “The public is requested to ignore such messages and is reassured that everything is under control,” he said. Jubilee Party secretary general Raphael Tuju will return on Wednesday,  ex party vice chairperson David Murathe announced. He said this during a Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) rally held in Meru county. A deal between retailer Naivas and a France-based private equity (PE) fund, Amethis Finance has been okayed by the Competitions Authority of Kenya (CAK). While approving the deal that will see Naivas sell a 30 percent stake to Amethis, the competition watchdog ordered that the parties honour all contracts entered into by the retailer. Nigeria on Friday confirmed its first case of coronavirus in Lagos state. “The case which was confirmed on 27/02/2020 is the first case to be reported in Nigeria since the beginning of the outbreak in China in January 2020,” Health Minister Osagie Ehanire said on Twitter. https://twitter.com/Fmohnigeria/status/1233180000872026114 The case is an Italian man working in Nigeria. Nairobi governor Mike Sonko reckons that the handing over of some of the county functions to the National government was the best decision for the county.
