The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has dismissed 64 teachers for a variety of infractions. In total, 38 teachers were sacked after a disciplinary process, and 26 were fired for falsifying certifications during the recruitment process. A footballer from Mombasa was among four persons detained by police after their vehicle was discovered trafficking heroin at the city’s Likoni ferry crossing. Zacharia Hassan, 26, a member of one of the county teams, was busted in the vehicle with Ali Saidi Mwakileo, 34, Swaleh Mughoshi, 35, and Juma Msoud, 31, on Wednesday. Kenya’s largest telco Safaricom has launched an initiative in support of those suffering due to the impact of the prolonged drought. Pamoja Tuungane initiative was launched on Monday to inspire Kenyans to come together and support their fellow countrymen in drought affected areas.
