Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK) has responded to claims that it paid musicians too little in music royalties. The rant was started by rapper Khaligraph Jones who noted that he only received Sh2,530 from the body that restarted operations at the start of the year following a two year freeze. Kisumu County ward representatives on Tuesday impeached Finance executive Nerry Achar. 37 MCAs voted in favour of the censure motion as three opposed it. This was after a court order blocking the assembly from discussing his conduct became obsolete. A family is in mourning after their four year old kin was found dead on Monday morning. The four year old girl went missing on Sunday evening after her grandmother sent her to the market. According to the grandmother, the child left home at around 6pm and never returned. A police officer in charge of Lamu Police Station was arrested on Monday morning alongside three junior officers for releasing a drug consignment under unclear circumstances. This comes a day after Interior CS Fred Matiang’i vowed to take “painful” action against drug trafficking in the region. Britain and the United States on Friday asked Tanzania to ensure that the due process of law for journalist Erick Kabendera. Kabendera was arrested last week by six men claiming to be policemen at his home in Dar es Salaam. Initially, police indicated, he was being held over his citizenship.
