Kenya’s largest telecommunications company Safaricom will have its shops closed tomorrow in honour of fallen chief executive Bob Collymore. The outlets will remain closed from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm on Thursday. “As a mark of respect for our cherished leader, Safaricom shall be closing all our shops countrywide on Thursday 4th July 2019 between the hours of 10.30am and 2.30pm,” the telco said in a statement. DCI detectives on Monday night nabbed a robbery with violence suspect in Nairobi’s Umoja 1 estate in Buruburu. The sleuths also recovered a stolen Toyota Prado VX. Safaricom on Monday faded its brand colors in honour of its fallen chief executive, Bob Collymore. Kenya’s largest telecommunications company changed its green logo to grey on all it’s social media pages and official website. On the site’s landing page is a grey photo of the deceased with the message “Rest In Peace Bob Collymore (1958-2019).” Collymore passed on in the wee hours of Monday morning after battling Myeloid Leukemia for at least two years.
