Communications Authority chairman of the board of directors Ngene Gituku has defended six senior officers arrested over procurement irregularities. According to Mr Gituku the authority invited tenders for the renovation of its exhibition stand at the Nairobi Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK) in August 2014. Kenya’s largest telecommunications company Safaricom has restored it’s MPesa services. The money transfer services have been unavailable from 6.05 PM on Thursday. The company has since restored the services and apologized to it’s stranded customers. “We have restored all MPesa services following an outage that ocurred at 1805hrs. The controversial Shalom Hospital is in the news again, this time, over claims that it has been involved in massive looting of NHIF funds. Shalom Hospital closed indefinitely nine days ago after Ethan Muendo, a seven-month-old baby was injected with morphine, 20 times the recommended dosage by an untrained health worker. At least 10 people have been confirmed dead and more than a dozen others injured after a bus rammed into a trailer along Garissa-Mwingi road. The Monday morning crash involved a Nasib Sacco bus destined for Nairobi. The deadly accident happened at Tula area, where the bus with more than 60 passengers aboard collided with a stalled trailer.
