Former Olympic and world 1500m champion Asbel Kiprop was on Saturday slapped with a 4 year ban by the IAAF Disciplinary Tribunal. The ban is dated from February 3, 2018. The athlete was found to have been in violation of the IAAF anti-doping rules. A woman on Friday night killed her husband using a hammer and axe at their Good Samaritan village home in Gatanga, Murang’a county. The couple, neighbours said, have been going through some rocky times which could have led to the heinous act. On Thursday, senior police officers were missing in action at an event attended by Deputy President William Ruto raising eyebrows. A local TV station had reported that the officers were withdrawn from the Nyeri event by the provincial administration. Traffic has built up along the busy Nairobi-Eldoret highway after two lorries collided on Friday morning. Moi University sixth year medical student Ivy Wangechi’s funeral is currently underway at her parent’s rural home in Othaya, Nyeri County. Ivy, 25, was hacked to death by Naftali Kinuthia outside the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital on Tuesday last week. Former National Lands Commission (NLC) Muhammad Swazuri will alongside 10 others spend the Easter weekend in custody pending bond hearing on Tuesday. A father is mourning the loss of his son following a morning accident along the Nakuru-Nairobi highway. The four year old boy was hit by a bus on its way to Western from Mombasa. The accident took place near Fly-Over trading center in Magumu Kinangop. The deceased was trying to cross the road. His father was waiting for him on the other side of the road. A Nairobi Hospital catering staffer has died following a cholera outbreak at the facility. Reports also indicate that seven other employees have been taken ill.
