Rapper and performer Megan Thee Stallion was hospitalized on Tuesday night after she reportedly became unwell during a live performance of Moulin Rouge! The Musical on Broadway.

A representative for the Grammy-winning artist confirmed the incident in a statement, saying she began feeling “very ill” during the show and was immediately taken to a local hospital for medical evaluation.

“During Tuesday night’s production, Megan started feeling very ill and was promptly transported to a local hospital, where her symptoms are currently being evaluated,” the spokesperson said, adding that further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

Concerns about her condition first surfaced online when entertainment journalist Loren Lorosa reported that the rapper had abruptly left the stage mid-performance. Audience members also noted that the production was briefly paused before continuing.

Social media posts from Megan’s hairstylist, Kellon Deryck, further fueled concern, as he asked fans to “say a prayer” for the artist while confirming that members of her team were with her at the hospital.

Despite the interruption, the show reportedly resumed after a brief pause, with another actor stepping into Megan’s role for the remainder of the performance.

Earlier this month, Megan made history as the first female-identifying performer to take on the role of Zidler in Moulin Rouge! The Musical. Her casting marked a major milestone for the production, with her performances receiving strong attention from Broadway audiences.

At the conclusion of the show, Megan was set to perform a medley of her hit songs, including WAP, Savage, and Body.

The “Hot Girl Summer” hitmaker, whose real name is Megan Pete, is scheduled to continue appearing in the production until May 17. She previously described joining the Broadway cast as an “absolute honor.”
