A suicidal Facebook user was found dead in a hotel room in Mtwapa, Kilifi County. Owen Maina Macharia was about to turn 28 when he took his life. According to a family member Daniel Kabii who spoke to Nairobi News, it was too late when they discovered his suicidal Facebook posts. In one of the posts, the deceased, a Marketing graduate said: “Solution to all problems is death. Laikipia Governor Nderitu Muriithi on Friday survived an election petition seeking to overturn his August 2017 win. The Supreme Court upheld Nderitu’s election and rejected his challenger Sammy Waity’s appeal. On Monday, officers investigating the gruesome murder captured a taxi driver Michael Githae Mathenge who they believe helped ferry the deceased’s body from Four Ways Junction to Juja. An online taxi driver is on the receiving end after the taxi hailing company he works with scammed him out of his hard earned bonuses and commissions. The Taxify driver identified as Jones Kubai has accused the Estonia based company of refusing to update his bonuses in his account from December 18, 2018 until now. The company ran campaigns that indicated that should a driver make 30 trips in a week they would receive Sh5,000 and an extra Sh2,000 for 50 trips. Nairobi governor Mike Sonko has come to an agreement with Nairobi county nurses whereby he agreed to increase their allowance so as to end the ongoing strike. Nairobi county was among the 11 out of 47 counties that embarked on the strike meant to compel county governments to implement the signed agreement with Nurses.
