Kisumu Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o has apologized to the Raila Odinga family for the embarrassment caused by the publication of an “erroneous” list of land defaulters. On the list was Raila’s father Jaramogi Oginga and his brother Oburu Odinga who allegedly owe the county government Sh7,774,099 and  Sh295,743 respectively. Citizen TV journalist Jacque Maribe is expected back in court tomorrow (Tuesday), her close friend Dennis Itumbi has disclosed. Ms Maribe was let out of Lang’ata Women’s Prison on September 31 after successfully applying for bail. Justice James Wakiaga freed her on a Sh2 million surety bond with an alternative of a Sh1 million tripartite surety cash bail. This was after spending a little over a month in remand. An irate father has been arrested after he allegedly beat up his daughter’s lover to death. John Odhiambo Juma, 43, beat Benson Onyango, a 24 year old man who he caught with his primary school daughter at Sika beach in Bondo sub-county. His 16 year old daughter had gone missing the day before. According to the area chief, Ambrose Ogema, the suspect received word that his daughter was at the deceased’s house. A rally car on Sunday rammed into spectators on Sunday in Uganda. The car lost control in a video that has been widely shared on the internet. One person has been confirmed dead and at least 9 others nursing injuries.
