The number of police officers attached to VIPs keeps on going up even as levels of insecurity among the common citizenry keep on roaring. Appearing on Citizen TV last week Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet said that he is working on reducing the number of uniformed officers guarding the VIPs. Key suspect in the murder of 28 year old businesswoman Monica Kimani, Joseph Irungu alias Jowie has been admitted at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH). Jowie, Kahawa Tungu understands, was admitted at the referral hospital on Monday and is set to undergo an operation on his left shoulder. Meru county Woman Representative Kawira Mwangaza on Monday recorded a statement at Capitol Hill police station after confiscating a journalist’s phone. The legislator was allegedly unhappy with Weru TV’s Boniface Mwongera who was present during legal proceedings at Milimani Law Courts where she has sued a musician for defamation.
