The Ethics and Anti- Corruption Commission (EACC) cleared 90 suppliers out of the total 152. They were paid KSh2 billion for supplying maize to the National Cereals and Produce Board(NCPB). The 90 were cleared after they proved to have made maize supplies to NCPB. The other 62 individuals suppliers were found to have issues which will be investigated further. The Ministry of Agriculture had stopped payment of the suppliers after reports of irregularities hit the cereals board. A KRA official based in Eldoret was found dead at his house in Kapsoya estate on Saturday morning, under unknown circumstances. Mr Francis Nyabuto’s body was discovered after neighbors noticed a foul smell coming from his house and alerted the police. Eldoret East police boss Richard Omanga confirmed the incident and said that it appeared the official had passed on several days ago. “We are conducting investigations to establish the cause of his death,” Omanga said. Chief Justice David Maraga has named five judges who will hear and determine the case of Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu. The judges: Justice Hellen Omondi, Justice Mumbi Ngugi, Justice Francis Tuiyott, Justice William Musyoka and Justice Chacha Mwita will determine the case made by DPP Noordin Haji against DCJ Mwilu. A man of Dutch descent was on Thursday arrested in Nairobi’s Kasarani area for defiling three girls two years ago. According to the DCI, Hans Egon Dieter Vriens was apprehended by detectives from the Child Protection Unit and Transnational Organized Crime Unit. Mr Vriens defiled the girls aged 8,9 and 10 years in 2016 then disappeared. President Uhuru Kenyatta was under fire on Thursday after tweeting a CNN opinion poll as a World Bank report that projected Kenya’s economy will be among Africa’s top two in the next twenty years. Tanzanian sweetheart Wema Sepetu has faced bitter days after posting an intimate video of herself on Instagram. The 30 year old Wema was arrested and arraigned in Kisutu Resident Magistrate Court, in Dar Es Salaam.
