Nairobi County senator Johnson Sakaja on Thursday said that it is hypocritical of the government to bring down the 12 storey Seefar Apartments as it pushes for affordable housing. Seefar Apartments, located in Nyayo Highrise were earmarked for demolition last week on Friday after it was found that it sits on riparian land. The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) on Thursday suspended its employees’ medical cover offered by Jubilee Insurance with effect from October 17. A prime plot located near State House Nairobi has left a Chinese businessman at a loss after being unable to produce documents proving ownership. Yu Donghui while appearing before High Court Judge Elijah Ombaga, said that his firm Catham Properties Limited bought the over two acre piece of land about five years ago. His firm could not however provide receipts to the land as the chief lands registrar in September 22, 2014 canceled the title. Two men were on Wednesday arrested after they allegedly threw a man out of a moving vehicle in Nairobi’s Parklands area. The men, identified as Sameer Abdulaziz Kazim and Paul Kavoi Musili according to a police report recorded at Parklands Police Station conned a customer of Sh732,000. The customer, Amos Charo Saro said that he met the duo on OLX where they were advertising steel bars. A Chadian man was on Tuesday charged with defrauding former Garsen MP Danson Mungatana of Sh76 million. Abdoulaye Tamba was arrested alongside two others in possession of Sh1 billion in fake dollars, euros and pounds in Nairobi’s Westlands area. Mr Tamba swindled the former legislator in the pretext that he would on his behalf invest the millions in an oil business.
