An administration police officer was on Wednesday morning found dead. The deceased was part of the security team assigned to escort election material during the just concluded Migori senatorial by-election. According to the area chief, Wilis Ogwada the officer, attached to Othoro Police Post was on Tuesday taken to St. Joseph Omboo Mission Hospital after showing signs of mental illness. The 62-seater Isuzu bus that crashed at Fort Tenan in Londiani is reported to have overlooked the National Transport Service Association (NTSA) regulations and PSV standard rules of operation. According to the NTSA portal, the vehicle under registration number KBX 092J, was illegally operating at night as it had not acquired a night travel licence. Different passengers have also blamed the bus managers for being arrogant, overloading the vehicle and the driver for overspeeding. Tanzanians are mourning the death of top music producer, Pancho Latino, popularly known as Mafia, who drowned while swimming in the Indian Ocean. The incident happened on Tuesday where witnesses say that Pancho was seen swimming but could not be spotted after 10 minutes. Fishermen are said to have went out to the ocean and found his remains. A Pinpoint Sacco matatu (REG NO. KAL 431W) on Wednesday burst into flames with passengers on board on Juja Road. The 14 seater psv plying the Kayole-Eastleigh route exploded causing the passengers to scamper for safety. The owner and driver of the matatu, James Muigai told a local daily that he heard something explode “on the second row of passenger seats.” No casualties were reported. At least 50 people have lost their lives in a deadly crash along the Londiani-Muhoroni Highway. The bus in the crash was traveling to Kisumu from Nairobi. Confirming the accident was Kericho County Police Commander James Mogera who noted that it took place at Fort Ternan. Renowned witch doctor, Annah Mutheu’s house was on Monday night raided by Flying Squad unit. The officers sought to find if the wealthy witch doctor is indeed involved in a car theft syndicate. During the 15 hour search, police discovered 112 identity cards belonging to different people but no guns were found.
