A strong field of over 100 golfers is expected to tee off this Saturday, March 28, at Nanyuki Sports Club, competing for the coveted Nanyuki Golf Club April Monthly Mug in a tournament that blends sport, networking, and premium customer engagement.

The event is sponsored by Safaricom Emerald as part of its first anniversary celebrations, marking one year since the platform’s launch on March 29, 2025. The sponsorship highlights Safaricom’s continued push to deepen customer relationships through lifestyle-driven experiences.

In a move aimed at enhancing customer engagement, Safaricom Emerald has extended invitations to select customers from Nanyuki and other regions, offering them a rare opportunity to participate in the tournament alongside club members. The initiative reflects the platform’s focus on rewarding loyalty while delivering exclusive, memorable experiences.

Safaricom CEO Peter Ndegwa noted that the tournament goes beyond competition, positioning it as a key touchpoint for customer appreciation.

“Events like the Nanyuki Golf Club Monthly Mug are a celebration of the game, bringing together players to compete, connect, and enjoy a shared passion for golf. As we mark this milestone, this tournament offers a meaningful opportunity to engage with our customers, appreciate their loyalty, and create memorable experiences both on and off the course,” he said.

Safaricom Emerald, launched in 2025, is designed to elevate the customer experience through a suite of premium offerings. These include enhanced roaming, eSIM technology, seamless payment solutions, and tailored postpaid plans. Beyond core services, the platform has carved out a niche in lifestyle engagement, giving customers access to exclusive events, bespoke services, and curated experiences.

The Nanyuki tournament underscores this positioning, bringing together sport and premium networking in a setting that aligns with the expectations of Emerald customers.

Eligible customers can join Safaricom Emerald through the Safaricom app or by dialing *544#, opening the door to a growing portfolio of exclusive benefits and experiences.
