Amani National Congress (ANC) Embakasi East MP aspirant in the 2017 General Election Joshua Otieno Obiende has dropped assault case against Babu Owino citing God’s intervention. Obiende accused the legislator of assaulting him at a polling station and preventing him from exercising his civic duty of casting his vote. Tanzanian Speaker has banned female legislators from making their way into the August House with false eyelashes and finger nails. Speaker Job Ndugai made the announcement shortly after Deputy Minister for Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children, Dr Faustine Ndugulile told the House that least 700 women are admitted to hospital with complications linked to the use of false eyelashes, false finger nails and skin bleaching. “With the powers vested in me by the Constitution of the United Republic of Tanzania, I now ban all MPs with false eyelashes and false finger nails from stepping into Parliament,” Ndugai said. The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) Director General Capt Gilbert Kibe has dismissed a report made by Daily Nation’s weekly, The East African, of a near airspace aircraft collision at Naivasha between Flight ET858 and Flight NOS252. The Civil Aviation Authority has dismissed the reports by the newspaper saying that the report is misleading and not backed up with evidence. Suspect in Shron Otieno’s murder and Migori Governor Okoth Obado’s personal assistant, Michael Oyamo has been denied bail. Resident Magistrate Lester Simiyu has ordered that Oyamo remains in police custody until Tuesday when he will be charged. Oyamo, through his lawyers asked the court to grant him freedom as the prosecution sought to have the former military man locked up till Monday. Fire broke out at Tribeka Lounge on Banda Street in the Central Business District on Monday after an oil cooking fryer burst into flames. Nairobi County Firefighters responded to the call and out the fire off immediately. According to eyewitnesses, the hotel workers and customers evacuated the premises immediately when the fire broke out.
