The Court of appeal has upheld the election of Starehe MP, Charles ‘Jaguar’ Njagua Kanyi. This comes after businessman Steve Mbogo appealed the High Court’s decision that it did not find an error in the election’s compliance with the constitution. All the 47 Woman Representatives cannot account for Sh4 billion allocated for projects, Auditor General Edward Ouko has revealed. “Even though there were board minutes to support approval of transfer of funds to the county committees detailing the amounts and the period, the basis of approvals were not provided for verification,” he said in his 2017 report. Airgate Mall owner formerly known as Taj Mall, Rameshchandra Gorasia is in the process of being compensated for the planned demolition of the Sh5.48 billion property. Nairobi County Governor Mike Sonko has stopped the ongoing construction of the Avic Towers along Waiyaki way in Westlands. The building of the tower has been in contention since 2015 when the adjacent building, Villa Rosa Kempinski owners went to court to stop the construction as it was not providing a conducive environment for their business. 15 people were arrested today at the site stopping the construction under the claim that it is being constructed on public property. An angry and fed up Airgate Mall formerly known as Taj Mall owner Rameshchandra Govind Gorasia on Thursday asked the government to bring down the multi billion shilling building. Members of Parliament on Wednesday asked the assembly to provide blind masseurs at the parliament gymnasium. Nominated MP, David Sankok tabled the report compiled by the Members’ Services and Facilities Committee asking the Parliamentary Service Commission to bring on board blind masseurs since they are better at the job. “We are asking Parliament to go to the Machakos School for the Blind and hire some of those people because they can do a better job,” said Sankok. Wajir Woman Representative Fatuma Gedi has been thrown out as the Chair of Kenya Women Parliamentary Association (KEWOPA) Caucus of 47 Women Representatives. The legislator was accused of handing out bribes on Thursday, August 9 to other members so as to shoot down the sugar report that could have indicted CS Treasury Henry Rotich, EAC’s Adan Mohammed and former Agriculture CS Willy Bett. Zari Hassan has been forced to postpone Princess Tiffah’s birthday party after the death of her brother in-law, Sir Pinto Semwanga. The birthday party was scheduled for Saturday 17 August but the family was forced to postpone it last minute due to her mother’s busy schedule. Seven Homa Bay County Assembly officials will be arrested and charged with several economic crimes, DPP Noordin Haji has said. The officials will be charged with the loss of over the loss of Sh26 million public funds for the financial years 2014/15 and 2016/17. Those involved are the county assembly clerk, Members of the County Assembly, and persons from finance and procurement department. He is acussed of killing Eric for over two Sh9 million life insurance policy covers in Kangundo. He was charged with murder on Wednesday but did not take a plea. He will take plea on September 17.
