Former presidential candidate Abduba Dida’s third wife Estail Ibrahim Ali has sought to end her ten year marriage from the politician citing cruelty.
In a petition filed under Sharia law Etail claims that Dida disrespected her, was cruel and even referred to her as a prostitute.
“That the respondent (Dida) has treated the petitioner (Estail) with cruelty and contempt by demeaning, disrespecting and abusing her verbally and physically on several occasions.”
“That the petitioner is psychologically affected by the respondent’s abusive language, for instance, calling her a prostitute and a big liar. That the respondent has been constantly abusive and showed violent behaviour towards the petitioner and this has had negative impact towards the petitioner and the marriage,” the petition read in part.
She said that she was accused of adultery as she was still engaged to Dida while still married to Takrem ‘Thomas’ Daido Dulu, but she says she left the latter after he declined to convert to Islam.

She asked the court to compel Abduba Dida to give her Sh.12 million for accrued expenses during the ten year marriage and also to pay Jiddah for three months. She said that Dida always gave priority to his first wife and her patience has run out.
According to the Nairobian, the teacher turned politician only paid Sh1,000 for Estail’s bride price.
Dida is yet to respond to the petition that was filed in April of 2017. He had admitted to have three wives during his campaigns whom he said worked in his campaign team.
In her affidavit, Dida’s wife also wants Safaricom compelled to print calls and messages made to her estranged husband whom she says is the father of her 18 year old son.
She wants her son’s paternity ascertained so that he can register for his National Identification card.
Mr Dulu on the other hand denies being the boy’s father and is “damn ready to undertake a DNA to ascertain his paternity should need arise.”
The Nairobian does however clarify that a birth notification certificate serial number 661385 dated 28 May 1999 lists Estail and Dulu as the boy’s parents and so does Certificate of Birth number 6084334 entry number 2616128890.
