Armed men on Sunday raided former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga’s Opoda farm in Bondo, Siaya County. The thugs who reportedly cut through the fence are said to have stolen livestock; geese, sheep and goats. The guards recorded their statements at the Bondo Police Station on Monday but have apparently been fired for fear that it could have been an inside job. Mombasa Woman Representative Asha Hussein was yesterday charged with assault in a Mombasa court. Appearing before Chief Magistrate Julius Nang’ea, Asha denied assaulting Mayasa Hassan on May 11 at Majengo, causing her bodily harm. 700 students from Maasai Girls Secondary School in Narok stormed out of the school after some students complained of molestation by a male teacher. The school was consequently closed for a week following protests by the students, overnight. The Principal, Rose Kotek, confirmed the allegations and said that the closure is to allow for investigations to be carried out.
