    Aytaç’s older brother, İsmail Ege Şaşmaz, is also a well-known actor in the Turkish television industry.

    The youngest sibling is their brother Yalın Şaşmaz, who is approximately 20 years younger than Aytaç and has occasionally appeared in family photos shared by the brothers, highlighting the strong family ties among them.

    Career

    Şaşmaz discovered his interest in acting during his high school years, where he participated in school plays and even won recognition for his performances.

    He pursued formal training by joining the Metropolitan Municipality Theatre in Manisa as a trainee before moving to Istanbul to further his career.

    Aytaç Şaşmaz’s brother Ismail

    His on-screen debut came in 2017 with the film Kötü Çocuk (Bad Boy), where he appeared alongside established actors like Tolga Sarıtaş and Afra Saraçoğlu.

    That same year, he took on a role in the military drama series Söz (The Oath), portraying Feyzullah Altiparmak from 2017 to 2019.

    The series achieved widespread acclaim and received an International Emmy Awards nomination, marking an early highlight in his trajectory.

    He continued to build momentum with a role in the medical drama Hekimoğlu (2019–2021), a Turkish adaptation of the American series House.

    In 2021, Şaşmaz landed his first leading role in the romantic comedy series Baht Oyunu (Twist of Fate), playing Bora Doğrusöz opposite Cemre Baysel.

    He followed this success with the role of Evren in the 2022 series Darmaduman, a Turkish adaptation of Beverly Hills, 90210.

    Over the years, he has also appeared in projects such as Aşk Tesadüfleri Sever 2 (Love Likes Coincidences 2) and other productions, solidifying his status as a rising star in Turkish cinema and television.

    Accolades

    Şaşmaz has received recognition for his work, most notably winning the Best Actor in a Romantic Comedy Series award at the 47th Golden Butterfly Awards (Altın Kelebek Ödülleri) for his performance in Baht Oyunu.

    This prestigious honor underscored his growing popularity and skill in the romantic comedy genre.

    He has also earned nominations, including for Best Male TV Actor at the Türkiye Gençlik Ödülleri (Turkey Youth Awards) in 2022 for the same series, reflecting appreciation from younger audiences and industry peers alike.
