An instructor and a pilot trainee crash landed in an open area in at the Nairobi National Park on Thursday morning. The Cessna 152 aircraft, registration number 5Y-BXP is said to have gone down a minute after take off. The light aircraft belonging to 99 Flying School, used for training purposes was found overturned. The cause of accident is yet to be established but they reportedly called Wilson Airport before the crash. The two were rushed to hospital with the instructor having suffered severe injuries. Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu has been summoned by the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) over utterances inciting youths to set on fire lorries ferrying charcoal. Fuel prices go up in Nairobi in the Energy Regulatory Commission’s (ERC) February review. Diesel will be retailing at Sh96.96 per litre as the rices go up by Sh2.14, whereas Petrol goes up by Sh1.62 to sell at Sh107.92 and Kerosene price rises by Sh1.97. ERC’s Director General, Robert Pervel Oimeke says that the changes are due to the high cost of importing petrol, kerosene and diesel starting December 2017 til January 2018. A Citi Hoppa bus was carjacked by four thugs along Mombasa Road. The gang took control of the bus that was headed to Pipeline area and stole from the unsuspecting passengers. A Meru Shuttle tout is under investigation after he beat up a passenger and left him for dead on January 30. The conductor, Felix Mwingirwa is said to have smashed the passenger’s head on a windscreen and then shoved him onto a barricade, cracking his skull. National Youth Service (NYS) general, Richard Ndubai has issued former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka with an eviction notice from the 500 acre land in Yatta constituency. A Kenya Airways (KQ) employee was on Sunday arrested in Mumbai, India with 23 kilograms of gold worth at least Sh100 million. Abdalla Ali Said arrived aboard flight KQ 210 and was apprehended while trying to check into a hotel near the airport.
