A warrant of arrest has been issued against Embakasi East MP, Paul Ongili aka Babu Owino and his bodyguard, Fanuel Owino for skipping court. The two did not appear in court for a case where they were accused of assaulting a Fortis Parking attendant on January 11, 2018. Standard Gauge Railways (SGR) ‘Madaraka Express’ fares will go up starting April as the government seeks to subsidize its operational costs. Royal Media Services chairman, SK Macharia has sued the government seeking compensation for the revenues lost throughout the three day shutdown. He also wants the state barred from interfering with the firm’s broadcasting sites. It is estimated that the three switched off stations; KTN, Citizen Tv and NTV have lost close to Sh30 million in advertising revenues per day. Google has been sued by the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) following a hacking of its systems via a gmail account. The account, wwarui@gmail.com, KRA detectives have said has been used on multiple occasions to access information that jeopardizes data of millions of taxpayers. ”The gmail account is believed to have been used to access KRA’s computer system and used to perform the task of an authorised officer, thereby infringing on the information security of the KRA,” Jillo said.
