Raila Odinga’s ODM party took over the swearing in ceremony plans without briefing the rest of the NASA coalition partners, Makueni Governor, Kivutha Kibwana has said.
Speaking to Musyi FM on Thursday, the county boss intimated that the four coalition partners; Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi, Moses Wetangula and Odinga, were supposed to meet on Tuesday before proceeding to Uhuru Park.
But on the material day, the former Prime Minister did not show up at the venue and instead left for the ‘oath’ taking ceremony alone.
“Kalonzo and Raila were to meet that morning. But when Kalonzo got to the venue, only Wetang’ula and Mudavadi were there,” the governor said.
He further revealed that ODM representatives did not brief their counterparts from Wiper, ANC and Ford Kenya on matters swearing in.
“ODM has not been fair. Even our representatives in the plans were kept in the dark most of the time. We are part of the NASA coalition but most of the time we were not briefed on meetings and progress.”
The acting Wiper Chairman also stated that the co-principals are willing to iron out their differences with Odinga. He also added that ODM should respect the rest of the parties that jointly formed NASA.
“Yes, there are issues that need to be looked into but I want to assume that the Kamba nation and NASA are intact. All we ask for is respect from our other partner (ODM),” he added.
He has also asked ODM leaders to avoid vilifying Kalonzo or those leaders who could not attend the swearing in ceremony.
Some ODM officials have accused the other principals of betraying Raila when he needed them the most.

Kalonzo did however defend his actions saying that the state was solely to blame for his absence after they withdrew his security detail ahead of the controversial ceremony.
He has reiterated that he is ready to take the oath as the People’s Deputy President on a later date.
NASA legislators including, Babu Owino (Embakasi East) and John Mbadi (Suba) had their security teams withdrawn on Wednesday.
