Kenyan short film ‘Watu Wote’ has been nominated for an Oscar award for best live action short film. The movie, produced by a German film student, is based on real life events which happened in December 2015. It tells how a Muslim man led fellow Muslim passengers in shielding their Christian colleagues from being shot by al Shabaab militants. The assailants attacked a Mandera bound bus near Elwak. The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has accused NASA of presenting to the public false information about the August 8 elections. Acting Chairperson, Consolata Nkatha says that the information presented on Friday by the opposition reveals ‘a total misunderstanding of how the results system worked’ during the elections. ”The presentation by NASA totally misleads the public on the results pathway, the servers, information on the public portal and the forms used to declare results. The Nairobi city council has closed Uhuru Park a week to the National Super Alliance (NASA) swearing in ceremony. The closure comes at a time when the opposition has threatened to go ahead with the oath taking ceremony at the said venue. Also holding a free medical camp on the same day as the ceremony is the Nairobi Business Community.
