Two NASA supporters were on Friday shot dead in Bondo during their weekly anti-IEBC protests as directed by their leader, Raila Odinga. The three are said to have been part of a rowdy group that stormed a police station with crude weapons. Two others sustained gun shot injuries and were rushed to Bondo Sub-county hospital. Blogger Abraham Kiplangat Mutai also known as Lord Mutai on Twitter on Friday filed an appeal against the High Court ruling that saw ThirdWay Alliance presidential candidate, Ekuru Aukot included in the October 26 polls. Delivering the ruling, Justice Mativo said that IEBC infringed upon Aukot’s right to political participation. Lord Mutai, has however said that the judge erred in his judgement including one where he stated that the presidential candidate was discriminated upon. Jubilee supporters living in the United Kingdom (UK) on Thursday camped outside the Chatham House, where NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga was delivering a lecture on October 12. The supporters sang and chanted pro-Jubilee slogans and asked Kenyans living in the Britain to vote for President Uhuru Kenyatta. Mombasa NASA supporters showed up in their numbers for the anti-IEBC protests even after acting CS Interior Fred Matiang’i banned demonstrations in the Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu CBDs. Leading the protests were MPs Badi Twalib, Abdulawamad Nassir among others. Embakasi East MP, Paul Ongili alias Babu Owino could lose his seat on October 18, should the High Court rule in favour of his opponent, Jubilee’s Francis Mureithi. The Jubilee candidate asked the court to nullify Babu’s win saying that he responded to the petition five days late. President Robert Mugabe on Monday reshuffled his cabinet and created a new ministry; Cyber Security, Threat Detection and Mitigation ministry. The ministry is being headed by former Finance Minister, Patrick Chinamasa who on Tuesday made changes to WhatsApp Group Administration policies. Effective November 1, 2017, WhatApp admins will be required a minimum of level 1 certification from the Border Gezi University of Cyber Security, Threat Detection and Mitigation. Acting CS for Interior, Dr Fred Matiang’i has banned demonstrations within Kisumu, Nairobi and Mombasa central business districts. National Assembly Speaker, Justin Muturi has ordered that no guns be allowed in Parliament to safeguard the security of the law makers. Police officers have been accused of using live bullets on Wednesday to disperse National Super Alliance (NASA) supporters during their ‘no reforms, no elections’ protests. The bullets are said to have hit offices within Nairobi’s CBD area. The police have however denied using live bullets during the anti-Chiloba protests.
