Central Bank of Kenya has expressed its confidence in the countries economic growth citing improvement in the agricultural sector and forex inflows. According to Central Bank Governor Dr. Patrick Njoroge, the presidential election will not threaten the economic growth as CBK plans to release its revised economic projections for the country next week. A Jubilee Narok County Assembly member has accused his opponent in the August 8 polls of using witchcraft to clinch the seat. Former Olposimoru MCA Wilson Masikonde, has filed a petition seeking to overturn the victory of Kikaet Kuyo. A Tanzanian Newspaper was on Tuesday suspended for two years for incitement and endangering national security. Mwanahalisi, according to the government’s spokesperson, Hassan Abbasi, was closed down for publishing a letter from one of its readers insulting President John Pombe Magufuli. “Government is suspending printing and publication of the Mwanahalisi newspaper for 24 months,” said Abbasi. The daily was last shut down in 2015, 2012 and for three months in 2008. Abbasi noted that the local daily had received several warnings prior to the suspension. The IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati has in a new memo posed more questions to CEO Ezra Chiloba. In the leaked memo, Chebukati seeks clarifications on the already answered queries. The head of the commission has sought clarification on issues arising from the CEO’s memo of response. He questions why Chiloba contradicts himself.
