NASA has after holding a Parliamentary group meeting at their Okoa Kenya offices on Wednesday resolved to stay away from both houses of Parliament. The opposition has said that its elected MPs and Senators will not take part in the formation of key house committees. According to them, the house as is constituted is illegal. Women trapped in the Kisumu hotel attacked on Wednesday morning by rowdy youths have been rescued by the police. Over 200 women were in Jumuia Hotel in the morning for an inter-religious meeting dubbed ‘Nyanza Women of Faith’ but were said to have been undertaking a vote buying exercise. According to Pastor Alice Owour of Deliverance Church, the youths made away with their personal effects and even threatened to rape some of the people. “They stormed the meeting accusing us of working with Jubilee agents to buy IDs from residents,” Owuor said after police rescued the meeting’s attendees. The Kenya Independent Commissions Workers Union has withdrawn its suit that sought to bar the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) from taking disciplinary action against CEO Ezra Chiloba. Kisumu youths have on Wednesday stormed Jumuia Hotel after receiving information of voter buying taking place in the premises. The rowdy youths are said to have turned tables and destroyed laptops found in the Anglican Church owned hotel. 3,000m steeplechase champion, Conseslus Kipruto has been sued by a woman claiming to have had his child. The woman identified as Horta Jesang has sued the world champion for child neglect. NASA Presidential candidate, Raila Odinga has said that there will be no elections in October as directed by the IEBC. Speaking at a rally in Kibra, Odinga said the 17 October polls would not take place should the electoral body meet all its demands. Tundu Lissu, a Tanzanian Mp who was shot last week has contracted a life threatening chest infection at the Aga Khan Hospital where he is undergoing treatment. The Tanzanian legislator is said to have been put on a life support machine following the infection. NASA women leaders led by ODM Secretary General, Agnes Zani and Jacqueline Oduol, accused Jubilee party of buying Identity cards from their (NASA) supporters.
