The Kenya Independent Commissions Workers Union has withdrawn its suit that sought to bar the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) from taking disciplinary action against CEO Ezra Chiloba.
The Union has withdrawn the suit after Chiloba denied instructing ‘anyone to go to Court on his behalf on any matter.’
Let it be known that I have not instructed anyone to go to Court on my behalf on any matter. We make progress if we avoid sideshows.
— Ezra Chiloba (@ezraCHILOBA) September 7, 2017
The CEO accused the Union of subjecting him to public ridicule by filing a suit that he said was the union’s way of seeking publicity.

The Court declined on September 7 to issue temporary orders restraining the electoral body from sacking or suspending Ezra and other commissioners.
The CEO will after all be overseeing the fresh polls after a retreat in Naivasha where all the commissioners agreed to forge ahead.
