Lesotho’s opposition party has won the most Parliamentary seats in the southern African kingdom’s snap election over the weekend. Thabane won a national election at the weekend but failed to gain an outright majority in parliament and will now form a coalition government, the party said on Tuesday. French police shot and injured a man who attacked an officer with a hammer outside Paris’s Notre Dame cathedral Tuesday, as he shouted “this is for Syria”. Police sources said the officer sustained minor neck injuries in the assault, which comes with France on high alert after jihadists killed seven people in London on Saturday. Documents found on the attacker identified him as a 40-year-old Algerian who was a doctoral student in information science at a university in the east of France. One person was on Wednesday morning  injured after a commuter train collided with a trailer near Cereals, Donholm. The train is said to have been heading to Embakasi and was derailed after it was hit by the truck. Witnesses say that the driver of the trailer had tried crossing the railway but hit the train fro the rear end. Rose Muhando, award winning gospel artiste, was arrested on Sunday 4th June for allegedly defrauding a church in Tanzania. The singer is said to have made away with Ksh 37,000. Rose who doubles up as a reverend is said to have received money from the chairman of AICT Singida choir as payment for an appearance during the launch of the AICT choirs album that was held in November 13th 2016. The government is targeting to train over one million youths through the Ajira Digital Programme. The programme is being implemented by the ICT, Youth and Gender Affairs, Education, Foreign Affairs ministries in partnership with the civil society and private sector. Its aim is to bridge the gap between skills demand and lack of jobs. Crude oil will now be exported at least three times a year. The current output is  said to be still low, with vessels requiring ten times the amount of barrels being produced daily. According to Petroleum principal secretary Andrew Kamau, the oil will be stored at Mariakani refinery tanks for between three and four months and amass adequate quantities to fill a ship. “Kenyan oil will be exported about three times in a year. A witness in the Bill Cosby sex assault trial has told the court he drugged and sexually abused her in 1998. It is the same method he is said to have used in the alleged 2004 attack on Andrea Constand he is on trial for. Mr Cosby, 79, denies the charge. The Electoral Commission (IEBC) has fired the Procurement Director Lawy Aura for a delay in sourcing of ballot papers. According to the IEBC chairman, Wafula Chebukati, Mr Aura was fired on May 29 but only released the details of his sacking on Tuesday. Mr Aura was blamed for delays in procuring ballot papers that will be used in the August 8 polls.
